More Than A Basketball Coach Is Mike Krzyzewski

The year 2015 might become recognized as that of Coach K. And why not, Mike Krzyzewski has plenty to celebrate. For one, he rang in 2015 early on by winning his 1000th game, then followed it up with the recent NCAA Championship won by Duke, his fifth as a head coach.

Indeed what a year for the legendary head coach of Duke.

But what makes Krzyzewski special is his gift. Guiding young men into the world ahead of them. The players he coaches for the most part do not go pro, but then again, what coach does? Pro or not, Krzyzewski is equally proud of his players, getting them ready for the challenges of tomorrow.

That’s what he uses the game of basketball towards, gearing the players he coaches ready for the game of life.

What Krzyzewski has done should be the model for every coach, no matter the wins and losses.

Another great aspect of Krzyzewski, how about the fact that he nor his players then and now, have had any issues with the NCAA.

Staying away from scandals, which seems to become a frequent occurrence, not the case with the Duke basketball program.

What’s the case with the program, winning and lessons learned along the way.
